Newcastle United's Mikolaj Jerzyk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonas Cole in the 14th minute of play. Brooklyn SC were awarded a corner in the 15th minute after Newcastle United's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jonas Cole took the corner. George Potra made a great header on Brooklyn SC's corner, it was just that Newcastle United's Mikolaj Jerzyk managed to reach the ball for a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thomas Vollmar in the 21st minute of play forced Brooklyn SC's goalkeeper Jospeh McNally to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kajetan Kochniarczyk struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Jospeh McNally didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Newcastle United. In the 42nd minute Pankracy Malicki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jospeh McNally saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Brooklyn SC's Gerardo Beard was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 43rd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. In the 46thth minute of the game Thomas Vollmar who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Brooklyn SC's Jospeh McNally was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Thomas Vollmar to make the kick off. A collision led to Brooklyn SC getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. George Potra hit a great ball. With an all-out effort, Newcastle United's Jospeh McNally threw himself towards the right post 53 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Thomas Vollmar, which otherwise would have been placed in the net.
