After having played for 11 minutes, Erling Lewandowski managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Go Ahead Eagles's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erling Lewandowski was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 13th minute Fermin Dolfo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafa Lojewski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Facundo Bot in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Basri İhtiyar saved Yalapa from getting behind. Yalapa's Basri İhtiyar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Yalapa from getting a goal against them. 23 minutes into the match, Go Ahead Eagles's goal looked a bit too open when Fermin Dolfo came free, but Rafa Lojewski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 77th minute, Iustin Bâru made a precise shot to the right of Basri İhtiyar. Yalapa's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. 80 minutes into the game, Jose Nuno threw the ball into play from the sideline. Go Ahead Eagles's Cássio Gonçalves quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Yalapa's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Iustin Bâru was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1.
Yalapa's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
