The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Xacintu Ribeiro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pankracy Glogowski read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. Hermengildo Erroman got a throw-in 14 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Remigio Erramu. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xacintu Ribeiro in the 19th minute of play forced Club Atlético Atlanta's goalkeeper Pankracy Glogowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 25 minutes into the match, Mugur Chiriac had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luizinho Paranaense. Atlético Bucaramanga's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mugur Chiriac was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Xacintu Ribeiro struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Pankracy Glogowski came out of the goal and Hernando Harroyo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Club Atlético Atlanta's Benigno Abreu was substituted for Remigio Erramu. Club Atlético Atlanta's Eustaquio Jaizki was substituted for Mugur Chiriac. Atlético Bucaramanga's Luizinho Paranaense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfonso Goicoechea in the 69th minute of play. If Jerson Gonzales had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Club Atlético Atlanta's goalkeeper Pankracy Glogowski, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Pankracy Glogowski was left in no man's land by his defense there! 85 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Atlanta's goal looked a bit too open when Hernando Harroyo came free, but Pankracy Glogowski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Atlético Bucaramanga walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
