With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luizinho Paranaense prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 10th minute, Adam Czubski got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 14th match minute, Atlético Bucaramanga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Polikarp Dovlatov to maneuver through the defense. In the 20th minute Atlético Bucaramanga were awarded a corner. Jerson Gonzales went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Jerson Gonzales got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Kjell Trengereid quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Kjell Trengereid dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for López Heredia to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cahya Tomagola in the 90th minute of play forced Atlético Bucaramanga's goalkeeper Luizinho Paranaense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
