Tolek Kiszkiel made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Yu Jian Tian sent off a good shot on target. Fabian Czeszejko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Marcelino Flor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabian Czeszejko in the 16th minute of play. Marcelino Flor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodney Lindov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ's goalkeeper Marcelino Flor, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 35th minute, Leon Piekarczyk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Erasmo Campidelis got a throw-in 40 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Yu Jian Tian. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabian Czeszejko in the 44th minute of play forced ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ's goalkeeper Marcelino Flor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Everardo Hartz hit a great ball. Fernando Morientes struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Marcelino Flor didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Olimpia HSB. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Fabian Czeszejko made the kick off in the second half.
