Atahan Balon made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Venancio Emesto sent off a good shot on target. In the 4th minute, Sporting de Gijón's Venancio Emesto ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Atahan Balon. Atahan Balon yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. In the 7thth minute of the game Luka Ljubenković who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sporting de Gijón's Óscar Cordoba was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Atahan Balon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Matias Bilintx's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. A nice corner shot did that Saturnino Curcio got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Atahan Balon quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Cristian Urtzi hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Matias Bilintx got free with Atahan Balon in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Óscar Cordoba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luka Ljubenković, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. A hard shot 19 in the game by Diego Maradona from a close distance when the talented Atahan Balon managed to make a qualified save. Los Muchachos del 86's players were relieved. In the 24th match minute, Sporting de Gijón was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Venancio Emesto to maneuver through the defense. Venancio Emesto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Atahan Balon made a huge save. In the 31st match minute, Los Muchachos del 86 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian Urtzi to maneuver through the defense. Atahan Balon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matias Bilintx in the 31st minute of play. 33 minutes into the match, Los Muchachos del 86's goalkeeper Atahan Balon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Venancio Emesto. Sporting de Gijón's Óscar Cordoba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jérémie Boix in the 37th minute of play. In the 44th minute Matias Bilintx shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Atahan Balon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Sporting de Gijón's Saturnino Curcio got a free kick in the 44th minute. In the 47th minute, Luka Ljubenković made a precise shot to the right of Óscar Cordoba. Sporting de Gijón's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Matias Bilintx stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Atahan Balon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Venancio Emesto in the 57th minute of play. Venancio Emesto took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Atahan Balon. Atahan Balon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Matias Bilintx fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Atahan Balon having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Matias Bilintx's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Atahan Balon was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rune Fanström in the 66th minute of play forced Los Muchachos del 86's goalkeeper Atahan Balon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Sporting de Gijón's Saturnino Curcio got a free kick in the 68th minute. Atahan Balon came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Sporting de Gijón's Wayne Rooney. But to his dismay, Wayne Rooney quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. Los Muchachos del 86 made a substitution. Efrain Jacob replaced Luka Ljubenković. Los Muchachos del 86 made a substitution. Sander Tielemans replaced Asiz Soon. Sporting de Gijón's Mario Zanabria was substituted for Venancio Emesto. Atahan Balon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matias Bilintx in the 88th minute of play. When Sporting de Gijón's Matias Bilintx in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Los Muchachos del 86's goalie prevented a goal. Atahan Balon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diego Maradona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Óscar Cordoba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Efrain Jacob in the 96th minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Los Muchachos del 86 players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Sporting de Gijón.
