With his leg Eloy Mazuste managed to avoid a goal in the 17thth minute, when Sporting de Gijón's Matias Bilintx fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Saturnino Curcio kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Eloy Mazuste made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Venancio Emesto sent off a good shot on target. 29 minutes into the match, Tigres Ñacuñán FC's Christian Bergqvist sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Óscar Cordoba narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Sporting de Gijón's zone, Christian Bergqvist stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Óscar Cordoba came out of the goal and Christian Bergqvist tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 38th minute, Saturnino Curcio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Óscar Cordoba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christian Bergqvist in the 39th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Christian Bergqvist's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Óscar Cordoba was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Diego Maradona got free with Eloy Mazuste in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Christian Bergqvist was the one to do the kick off. Eloy Mazuste showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matias Bilintx in the 56th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 56 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Matias Bilintx sped through Tigres Ñacuñán FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Eloy Mazuste. The audience was convinced that Mariano Llorian's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Óscar Cordoba was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. Tigres Ñacuñán FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Andres Pitin in the 71st minute.
