Pipis Karapatakis showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Vermudo Capetillo charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vermudo Capetillo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, CERRO PORTEÑO's Vermudo Capetillo got a free kick in the 41st minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Filiph Biörling couldn't finish the play. 63 minutes into the match, CERRO PORTEÑO's goal looked a bit too open when Pipis Karapatakis came free, but Jiang Lei reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Vermudo Capetillo was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 64 minutes had been played. In the 64th minute, Vermudo Capetillo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jiang Lei didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pipis Karapatakis went, in the 66th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. In the 71st minute, Pipis Karapatakis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Grêmio FBPA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Filiph Biörling scored 5-0 in the 78th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jiang Lei, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind CERRO PORTEÑO's goalkeeper Jiang Lei, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 90 minutes had been played when some careless play by CERRO PORTEÑO's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Darío Pereyra was slow to take the kick. During this time Grêmio FBPA's players had a chance to rest. 92 minutes into the match, Ted Hoogenkamp had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jiang Lei. CERRO PORTEÑO's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ted Hoogenkamp was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-0. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Grêmio FBPA fans cheered their team off the field, for while CERRO PORTEÑO had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
