The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pipis Karapatakis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Darío Pereyra got free with Slavcho Kanov in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Deivid de Sena might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Slavcho Kanov. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Deivid de Sena ran back to his position shaking his head. Slavcho Kanov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diamantino Cabral in the 60th minute of play. In the 61st minute, Grêmio FBPA's Pipis Karapatakis dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. Slavcho Kanov made an important save on a dangerous shot by Filiph Biörling in the 64th minute. Rafa de Almeida charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
