The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd match minute, Cactos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alberigo Palomba to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Cactos getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Conrado Capixaba hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Nicolas De la Cruz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bran Allison was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. In the 16th minute, John Beton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Karol Panasewicz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bran Allison having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicolas De la Cruz in the 19th minute of play forced Cactos's goalkeeper Bran Allison to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 22 minutes into the match, Cactos's goal looked a bit too open when Karol Panasewicz came free, but Bran Allison reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cactos's Bran Allison played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolas De la Cruz in the 24th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Karol Panasewicz in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bran Allison prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Maurinho Trezeguet might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Robin Sharma. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Maurinho Trezeguet ran back to his position shaking his head. Robin Sharma made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luisinho Maciel in the 36th minute of play. 41 minutes into the game, Peter Bagge threw the ball into play from the sideline. Blue Mountain State's Elvio Burualla quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 42nd minute Nicolas De la Cruz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bran Allison saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 43 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Blue Mountain State's Nicolas De la Cruz fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Luisinho Maciel made the kick off in the second half. In the 57th match minute, Blue Mountain State was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Karol Panasewicz to maneuver through the defense. Cactos made a substitution. Coronel Camba replaced Conrado Capixaba. In the 59th minute, Karol Panasewicz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bran Allison showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karol Panasewicz, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Blue Mountain State's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Afşar Uçuk in the 66th minute. The corner ended in Afşar Uçuk almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Cactos's Bran Allison did a great save. In the 68th minute, one of Cactos:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Cactos. Cactos:s Bran Allison showed great skill when he stopped George Popescu:s penalty. Bran Allison showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from George Popescu in the 72nd minute of the match. Bran Allison showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lionel-Andrés Messi, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Cactos's Coronel Camba got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers George Popescu in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bran Allison saved Cactos from getting behind. John Beton hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lionel-Andrés Messi in the 90th minute of play forced Cactos's goalkeeper Bran Allison to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 91st minute Ricki Dresager shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robin Sharma saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bran Allison showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from George Popescu in the 92nd minute of the match. 93 minutes had been played when some careless play by Cactos's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Afşar Uçuk was slow to take the kick. During this time Blue Mountain State's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Blue Mountain State's Afşar Uçuk to fire away a dangerous shot which Bran Allison despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 96 minutes into the match, Blue Mountain State's goalkeeper Robin Sharma had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ricki Dresager. Blue Mountain State's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
