After a rather tough play, FC Wil 1900's Philipp Santagapita got a free kick in the 16th minute. Sontaya Peerapattana was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 17th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thani Mettarikanon in the 19th minute of play forced FC Wil 1900's goalkeeper Lionel Paly to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lionel Paly had great luck who in the 23rdth minute grab hold of the ball when Sayan Kitiwinit from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. If Reginald Muggleton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emery Heller in the 28th minute of play forced Sheffield FC1857's goalkeeper Paiboon Permpol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paiboon Permpol showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ezio Gøl in the 30th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 44 minutes, Reginald Muggleton took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Lionel Paly to make any attempt to save it. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Lionel Paly dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. FC Wil 1900's Friedrich Nietzsche was substituted for Curtiz Klein. The tension between the Sheffield FC1857 and the FC Wil 1900 players grew even worse after the yellow card.
