The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Serginho Valle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Toufik Moussaoui, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. The supporters of BURAIMI FC booed when IBIRITÉ FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Paulo Pimenta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Serginho Valle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Toufik Moussaoui, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. After a rather tough play, IBIRITÉ FC's Fausto Lopez got a free kick in the 11th minute. If Tiago Amaral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Toufik Moussaoui in the 21st minute of play forced IBIRITÉ FC's goalkeeper Serginho Valle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 21st minute Toufik Moussaoui shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serginho Valle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cheb Achiu might have been able to make a better finish in the 24th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Serginho Valle. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cheb Achiu ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 25th minute Toufik Moussaoui shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serginho Valle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Yacine Djebar's late challenge caught a IBIRITÉ FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Yacine Djebar helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, BURAIMI FC's Yacine Djebar got a free kick in the 26th minute. In the 27th match minute, IBIRITÉ FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Paulo Pimenta to maneuver through the defense. BURAIMI FC's Rabah Laref played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tiago Amaral in the 30th minute of play. A collision led to BURAIMI FC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Liamine Sofiane hit a great ball. After 32 minutes, Fiori Maia made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. BURAIMI FC's Rabah Laref tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 38thth minute of the game Fiori Maia who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but BURAIMI FC's Rabah Laref was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Tiago Amaral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 41 minutes into the match, Reda Chaouchi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Serginho Valle. IBIRITÉ FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Reda Chaouchi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. After 44 played minutes BURAIMI FC got a freekick which was hit by Toufik Moussaoui. Toufik Moussaoui received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Serginho Valle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fiori Maia to make the kick off. After 55 played minutes BURAIMI FC got a freekick which was hit by Cheb Achiu. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Fiori Maia managed to get in a good position for a shot. IBIRITÉ FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Fiori Maia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rabah Laref breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fiori Maia struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Rabah Laref didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for IBIRITÉ FC. Rabah Laref stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fiori Maia's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Reda Chaouchi got free with Serginho Valle in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 69th minute Reda Chaouchi suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 68th minute of the game. One of IBIRITÉ FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of BURAIMI FC:s goal. Fiori Maia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rabah Laref having to interfere. When Fiori Maia came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the IBIRITÉ FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fiori Maia couldn't finish the play. Tiago Amaral scored 2-2 in the 80th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rabah Laref, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Liamine Sofiane kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Serginho Valle. That made the score 2-3 in the 87 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiago Amaral in the 95th minute of play forced BURAIMI FC's goalkeeper Rabah Laref to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, BURAIMI FC's Mohammad Nabil got a free kick in the 98th minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. BURAIMI FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
