After having played for 36 minutes, Joaquin Fonso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Boguslaw Chodzinski in the 38th minute of play forced Club Atlético Atlanta's goalkeeper Carlos Germano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 39 minutes into the game, Eustaquio Gerazan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Atlético Atlanta's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gloria the free kick.

The wind increased when Arnulfo Mikelar made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Club Atlético Atlanta booed when Gloria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Boguslaw Chodzinski didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joaquin Fonso in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Isaias Baleren prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Carlos Germano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arnulfo Mikelar in the 79th minute. The supporters of Club Atlético Atlanta booed when Gloria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicoló Barella didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eustaquio Gerazan was shown his second yellow card after 96 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Club Atlético Atlanta were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
