The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ajax's goalkeeper Gigi Buffon, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Tonton Eren received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Tadeusz Rutkowski came out and tried to block the shot, but Tonton Eren slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 8th minute. In the 10th minute Ulryk Merski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gigi Buffon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ajax's goalkeeper Gigi Buffon, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ignacy Grucza made in the 15th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by 2kC Poznań's Janusz Pusiak. Ajax's Gigi Buffon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ulryk Merski in the 17th minute of play. Tadeusz Rutkowski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chad Smith, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 27 minutes into the match, 2kC Poznań's goal looked a bit too open when Wojtek Sokol came free, but Tadeusz Rutkowski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 2kC Poznań's Tadeusz Rutkowski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tonton Eren in the 28th minute of play. In the 31st minute, Ulryk Merski ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gigi Buffon was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. If Chad Smith had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gigi Buffon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Janusz Pusiak, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Gigi Buffon came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by 2kC Poznań's Janusz Pusiak. But to his dismay, Janusz Pusiak quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Gigi Buffon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Janusz Pusiak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ulryk Merski's late challenge caught a Ajax's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ulryk Merski helped the player get up and apologised. In the 46th minute, Ulryk Merski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tonton Eren stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute Wojtek Sokol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tadeusz Rutkowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gigi Buffon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Janusz Pusiak in the 61st minute of play. 2kC Poznań's Tadeusz Rutkowski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Klement Bryk in the 62nd minute of play. 2kC Poznań's Kazimierz Kociniewski was substituted for Marek Buczko. 68 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ajax's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Edgar Turak was slow to take the kick. During this time 2kC Poznań's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on 2kC Poznań's corner Edgar Turak fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Gigi Buffon quite easily take care of the ball. 2-2 became the score in the 70th minute when Wojtek Sokol elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Tonton Eren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Tadeusz Rutkowski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 76 minutes into the game, Ajax's Klement Bryk nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tadeusz Rutkowski made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. 79 minutes into the match, 2kC Poznań's goal looked a bit too open when Wojtek Sokol came free, but Tadeusz Rutkowski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gigi Buffon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucjan Sokol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tadeusz Rutkowski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tonton Eren in the 91st minute of the match. If Lucjan Sokol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 96th match minute, Ajax was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jacek Kieca to maneuver through the defense. Ajax's Gigi Buffon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Janusz Pusiak in the 97th minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the 2kC Poznań players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Ajax.
