Justin Collingwood received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Tommy Thompson came out and tried to block the shot, but Justin Collingwood slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 19th minute. Gerry Cheeseman made in the 22nd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Jasper Attwood. Ferdi Kadıoğlu charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ferdi Kadıoğlu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 25 played minutes FC LIVERPOOL got a freekick which was hit by Ferdi Kadıoğlu. 26 minutes into the match, Garlic Eaters's Pavol Stano sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tommy Thompson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 28th minute Fitz Lambley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Thompson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Garlic Eaters getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Jasper Attwood hit a great ball. Through an outstanding action, after 31 minutes, Tommy Thompson successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Garlic Eaters were awarded a corner in the 33th minute after FC LIVERPOOL's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Pavol Stano took the corner. In the 34th minute of the match Garlic Eaters got a corner. FC LIVERPOOL's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Pavol Stano ran over to the corner to take the kick. After 37 played minutes Garlic Eaters got a freekick which was hit by Joel Afful. FC LIVERPOOL made a substitution. In the 40th minute Jasper Attwood shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Thompson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Justin Collingwood was the one to do the kick off. Tommy Thompson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Justin Collingwood recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tommy Hanley's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tommy Thompson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. Garlic Eaters were awarded a corner in the 89th minute after FC LIVERPOOL's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Pavol Stano took the corner.
