Kryspin Cupial took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Justin Collingwood, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. SSV Ulm 1846's Kryspin Cupial played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jasper Attwood in the 15th minute of play. When SSV Ulm 1846's Don Merlot in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Garlic Eaters's goalie prevented a goal. In the 26th minute Niclas Monschke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nikolay Bonkov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nikolay Bonkov came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by SSV Ulm 1846's Niclas Monschke. But to his dismay, Niclas Monschke quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Nikolay Bonkov was a little too slow when Niclas Monschke got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 32nd minute. The score was now 2-0. After a defensive mix-up in Garlic Eaters's zone, Niclas Monschke stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nikolay Bonkov came out of the goal and Niclas Monschke tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Niclas Monschke recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 41 played minutes Garlic Eaters got a freekick which was hit by Jasper Attwood. In the 42nd minute, Gerry Cheeseman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Don Merlot made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, SSV Ulm 1846's Niclas Monschke sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nikolay Bonkov narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niclas Monschke in the 53rd minute of play forced Garlic Eaters's goalkeeper Nikolay Bonkov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nikolay Bonkov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Don Merlot in the 55th minute of the match. SSV Ulm 1846's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Sven-Olof Lilja in the 57th minute. A nice corner shot did that Sven-Olof Lilja got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Nikolay Bonkov quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 60 minutes in the game Pavol Stano did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Antony Best. Nikolay Bonkov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Don Merlot in the 62nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tommy Hanley in the 64th minute of play forced SSV Ulm 1846's goalkeeper Kryspin Cupial to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 66th minute, Stephane Bosch hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 71 minutes into the match, Garlic Eaters's goal looked a bit too open when Albrecht Bosbach came free, but Nikolay Bonkov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nikolay Bonkov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Don Merlot in the 72nd minute of play. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Garlic Eaters's goalkeeper Nikolay Bonkov, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 76 minutes into the match, SSV Ulm 1846's goal looked a bit too open when Jasper Attwood came free, but Kryspin Cupial reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Garlic Eaters defense, Don Merlot kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nikolay Bonkov. The Garlic Eaters fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nikolay Bonkov should have stopped the shot.
