The Rangers FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fergus Fairbairn should have stopped the shot. In the 21st minute Raymond Johnston shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bertel Foltmann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lin Lang Bang received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Fergus Fairbairn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Absalon Aabaand in the 27th minute of play forced Rangers FC's goalkeeper Fergus Fairbairn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fergus Fairbairn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michael Blisted, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. 31 minutes into the match, Rangers FC's goal looked a bit too open when Absalon Aabaand came free, but Fergus Fairbairn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lin Lang Bang might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fergus Fairbairn. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lin Lang Bang ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Absalon Aabaand in the 34th minute of play forced Rangers FC's goalkeeper Fergus Fairbairn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 34th minute, Absalon Aabaand ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fergus Fairbairn was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. After 45 minutes of play, Skovbølling's Lin Lang Bang made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fergus Fairbairn was left in no man's land by his defense there!

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Raymond Johnston stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Rangers FC's zone, Michael Blisted stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fergus Fairbairn came out of the goal and Michael Blisted tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 55 minutes, Raymond Johnston mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rangers FC and the Skovbølling players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 55th minute, Raymond Johnston hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fergus Fairbairn made an important save on a dangerous shot by Michael Blisted in the 58th minute. Lin Lang Bang's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fergus Fairbairn read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. 68 minutes into the match, Skovbølling's Ivan Nielsen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fergus Fairbairn narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lin Lang Bang received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Fergus Fairbairn came out and tried to block the shot, but Lin Lang Bang slotted it home off the left post making it 0-8 in the 69th minute. Rangers FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lin Lang Bang was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-10. Michael Blisted hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Rangers FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 92nd minute, when Michael Blisted scored to the left of an out of position Fergus Fairbairn, making the score, 0-11. Skovbølling's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
