The SV Klingsmoos fans' excitement grew in the 8th match minute when SV Klingsmoos's Gery Burhanuddin looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Johnny Banks showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gery Burhanuddin in the 17th minute of the match. 18 minutes into the match, SV Klingsmoos's goal looked a bit too open when Muhammad Bejaoui came free, but Berthold Bach reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Johnny Banks showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gery Burhanuddin, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Berthold Bach took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from François Rouvrais, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. De-la-Cruz Fantasia came free with the goalkeeper in the 27th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Johnny Banks could save by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pompiliu Roşculeţ in the 29th minute of play forced SV Klingsmoos's goalkeeper Berthold Bach to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Soner Ortaçgil lost his temper 35 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. SV Klingsmoos made a substitution. Erik Amend replaced Pablo Slier. In the 35th minute, one of SV Klingsmoos:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for SV Klingsmoos. In the 40th minute FC Hamburg were awarded a corner. Hendrik Holletschek went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on FC Hamburg's corner Chris-George Heirpoel fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Berthold Bach quite easily take care of the ball. A collision led to FC Hamburg getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Muhammad Bejaoui hit a great ball. Torsten Henning was extremely unlucky when he, in the 44th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 44th minute of the match, Torsten Henning tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Johnny Banks saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for François Rouvrais to strike the kick off in the second half. François Rouvrais sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a rather tough play, SV Klingsmoos's Ubbo Weinforth got a free kick in the 58th minute. FC Hamburg were awarded a corner in the 68th minute after SV Klingsmoos's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Hendrik Holletschek took the corner. The corner led FC Hamburg's Hendrik Holletschek to fire away a dangerous shot which Berthold Bach despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. FC Hamburg's Liam Hähner was substituted for Manfred Kottsieper. Berthold Bach made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Muhammad Bejaoui sent off a good shot on target. Berthold Bach didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Muhammad Bejaoui went, in the 95th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
