Juvenal Moreira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Sydney FC getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Armando Abeita hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Angelo Milanese in the 46th managed to get into a good position. The audience was convinced that Angelo Milanese's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Juvenal Moreira was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Sebastian Titz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. Sydney FC made a substitution. Jakov Stähr replaced Önder Cebi. Duncan Lynch hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. Sydney FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
