An unexpectedly hard shot by Angelo Milanese in the 16th minute of play forced Hexo Utd's goalkeeper Max Limont to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sydney FC were awarded a corner in the 18th minute after Hexo Utd's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ferdinand Mendy took the corner. Sydney FC's Sebastian Titz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulius Rožėnas in the 22nd minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, Hexo Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Önder Cebi came free, but Max Limont reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hexo Utd's Max Limont played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Önder Cebi in the 28th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mar Cheze in the 30th minute of play forced Sydney FC's goalkeeper Sebastian Titz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 31st minute Angelo Milanese shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Max Limont saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mar Cheze kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Hexo Utd's Jonatan Klack got a free kick in the 46th minute. 47 minutes in the game, Önder Cebi dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. The Hexo Utd players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Sydney FC were winning 0-1.

After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Önder Cebi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sydney FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Önder Cebi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Max Limont breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Max Limont took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Önder Cebi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hexo Utd's Max Limont proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Hexo Utd from getting a goal against them. Hexo Utd's Miglius Simonaitis was substituted for Adolfo Brandão. Angelo Milanese hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Angelo Milanese got free with Max Limont in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 66 minutes, Emanuel Ogășanu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sydney FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emanuel Ogășanu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hexo Utd made a substitution. Vaidotas Indriulis replaced Anders Stenström. Max Limont made an important save on a dangerous shot by Önder Cebi in the 76th minute. 76 minutes into the game, Sydney FC's Emanuel Ogășanu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Max Limont made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Sebastian Titz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mar Cheze in the 84th minute of the match. Sydney FC's Sebastian Titz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mar Cheze in the 87th minute of play. 92 minutes into the match, Emanuel Ogășanu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Max Limont. Hexo Utd's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Emanuel Ogășanu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Sydney FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
