With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fan Sheng Yang in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sergio Rochet saved Uí Fergusa from getting behind. 17 minutes into the match, Geronimo Ciceron dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Gary Kelly, 2-0. In the 21st minute, Diego Lugano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sergio Rochet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fan Sheng Yang in the 23rd minute of play. Fan Sheng Yang struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Sergio Rochet didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Harchester United. Sergio Rochet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fan Sheng Yang, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. If Rupert Brooks had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Walery Pazura sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 50 minutes had been played when some careless play by Harchester United's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Diego Lugano was slow to take the kick. During this time Uí Fergusa's players had a chance to rest. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Konstanty Domalik was the one to do the kick off.
