Lưu Thuyet was left in no man's land by his defense there! 25 minutes into the match, Sài Gòn's goal looked a bit too open when Michael Owen came free, but Lưu Thuyet reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lưu Thuyet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ilgaz Şirvan in the 27th minute of the match. In the 28th minute Nguyễn Chi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abel Bueno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 30 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Michael Owen sped through Sài Gòn's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Lưu Thuyet. After 33 played minutes Sài Gòn got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Duc. Sài Gòn's Lưu Thuyet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Will Greenberg in the 34th minute of play. Lưu Thuyet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michael Owen, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Nguyễn Chi kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. The supporters of Qikiqtarjuaq FC booed when Sài Gòn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Chi didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Qikiqtarjuaq FC's Abel Bueno got control of the ball when Trần Teo tried to sneak it across the goal line. 43 minutes into the match, Michael Owen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lưu Thuyet. Sài Gòn's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Michael Owen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. The wind increased when Nguyễn Chi made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes in the game, Michael Owen dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Michael Owen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Lưu Thuyet made a huge save. Lưu Thuyet made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Michael Owen sent off a good shot on target. In the 60th minute, Michael Owen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lưu Thuyet was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. After a rather tough play, Qikiqtarjuaq FC's Hubert Arthur got a free kick in the 71st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Chi in the 73rd minute of play forced Qikiqtarjuaq FC's goalkeeper Abel Bueno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Michael Owen was extremely unlucky when he, in the 75th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Nguyễn Nga might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Abel Bueno. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nguyễn Nga ran back to his position shaking his head. After some careless play in the Sài Gòn defense, Michael Owen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lưu Thuyet. The Sài Gòn fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lưu Thuyet should have stopped the shot. Qikiqtarjuaq FC's Eustaquio Patrick was substituted for Ilgaz Şirvan. Alfonzo Davidson hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. If Michael Owen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The Qikiqtarjuaq FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
