NDG Fury FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Rufus Roach ran over to the corner to take the kick. The supporters of Australian Youth Academy booed when NDG Fury FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pasquale Circelli didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wallace Magee made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Garth Brough in the 16th minute of play. Garth Brough blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wallace Magee having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Garth Brough in the 28th minute of play forced NDG Fury FC's goalkeeper Wallace Magee to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Australian Youth Academy's Keylor Navas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mårten Arenstedt in the 29th minute of play. Léonard Rochon kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Garth Brough took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wallace Magee. Wallace Magee dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind NDG Fury FC's goalkeeper Wallace Magee, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 37th minute Australian Youth Academy were awarded a corner. Rufus Roach went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Rufus Roach almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but NDG Fury FC's Wallace Magee did a great save. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind NDG Fury FC's goalkeeper Wallace Magee, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The throw-in from Léonard Rochon in the 43rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Australian Youth Academy's Ellis Hoskin. Garth Brough received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Wallace Magee tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With 47 minutes on the clock, Pasquale Circelli commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The supporters of Australian Youth Academy booed when NDG Fury FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. In the 49th minute of the match Rufus Roach sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Wallace Magee skillfully saved the ball. The NDG Fury FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Australian Youth Academy were winning 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Garth Brough made a kick off. NDG Fury FC's Wallace Magee proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save NDG Fury FC from getting a goal against them. 56 minutes into the match, Australian Youth Academy's Garth Brough sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wallace Magee narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Garth Brough came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Australian Youth Academy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Garth Brough couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Garth Brough's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wallace Magee was relentless in the 67th minute of the game. NDG Fury FC's Wallace Magee proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save NDG Fury FC from getting a goal against them. Keylor Navas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emanuel Luke, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mårten Arenstedt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Keylor Navas having to interfere. NDG Fury FC made a substitution. Sylvestre Larocque replaced Chauncey Veilleux. NDG Fury FC's Chet Cho was substituted for Mårten Arenstedt. Ellis Hoskin kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. In the 93rd minute Ómar Sharif shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Keylor Navas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Australian Youth Academy walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
