When Ellis Hoskin came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Australian Youth Academy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ellis Hoskin couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Garth Brough's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tao Xi was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. After 9 minutes Flames FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Rufus Roach who took care of the corner kick. Tao Xi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Garth Brough in the 14th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gabriel Martini in the 15th minute of play forced Flames FC's goalkeeper Tao Xi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Keylor Navas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elias Emeterio, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Tao Xi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Garth Brough in the 18th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Garth Brough in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tao Xi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd rose to their feet as Flames FC's Diego Lopes slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Keylor Navas. That made the score 1-0 after 24 minutes of play. In the 28th minute, Rosario Moyer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Garth Brough took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tao Xi. Tao Xi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Keylor Navas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alican İçten in the 34th minute. Tao Xi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Garth Brough in the 36th minute of the match. Ellis Hoskin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Tao Xi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 43rdth minute of the game Garth Brough who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Flames FC's Tao Xi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 45th minute Australian Youth Academy were awarded a corner. Rufus Roach went to the cornerflag to take it. Garth Brough's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tao Xi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Garth Brough made a kick off. The supporters of Flames FC booed when Australian Youth Academy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Garth Brough didn't get a good kick on the ball. 54 minutes into the game, Flames FC's Diego Lopes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Keylor Navas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. The Australian Youth Academy fans' excitement grew in the 59th match minute when Australian Youth Academy's Garth Brough looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The crowd rose to their feet as Australian Youth Academy's Fletcher Baba slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tao Xi. That made the score 2-3 after 72 minutes of play. 78 minutes into the match, Flames FC's goalkeeper Tao Xi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Garth Brough. After a rather tough play, Flames FC's Stoyne Dushev got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Tao Xi made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Garth Brough sent off a good shot on target. In the 84th minute Alican İçten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Keylor Navas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Australian Youth Academy getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Jason Butterfield hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Flames FC's Stoyne Dushev tried to score from far away in the 86th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Keylor Navas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alican İçten in the 89th minute of the match. Flames FC's Tao Xi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Garth Brough in the 93rd minute of play. In the 95th minute, Diego Lopes made a precise shot to the right of Keylor Navas. Australian Youth Academy's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-3. Flames FC's Adam Măgureanu was substituted for Alican İçten. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
