The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Widodo Reza was a little too slow when Lanny Gilmore got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 5th minute. The score was now 1-0. 17 minutes had been played when some careless play by Santos FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Dewa Kooth was slow to take the kick. During this time Original Sabahan's players had a chance to rest. In the 19th minute of the match Santos FC got a corner. Original Sabahan's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Warren Ruiz ran over to the corner to take the kick. Cesar Small sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 31st minute Tyron Velasquez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Widodo Reza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Santos FC's Aaron Smallwood played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yahya Kılıçaslan in the 34th minute of play. After having played for 41 minutes, Yahya Kılıçaslan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Original Sabahan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Yahya Kılıçaslan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 46 minutes into the match, Dewa Kooth notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Santos FC's Aaron Smallwood. Aaron Smallwood was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lanny Gilmore to strike the kick off in the second half. Leo Blen hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Original Sabahan's Widodo Reza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tyron Velasquez in the 59th minute of play. 61 minutes into the match, Tyron Velasquez notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Original Sabahan's Widodo Reza. Widodo Reza was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Widodo Reza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tyron Velasquez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 70th minute, Tyron Velasquez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Widodo Reza was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Original Sabahan's Joko Waluyo was substituted for Yahya Kılıçaslan. In the 74th minute Joko Waluyo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aaron Smallwood saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After taking down the ball on Original Sabahan's corner Dewa Kooth fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Aaron Smallwood quite easily take care of the ball. 78 minutes into the match, Santos FC's goalkeeper Aaron Smallwood had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Vissenaekens. In the 89th match minute, Original Sabahan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by André Luís Tande to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Original Sabahan getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Mateusz Kubica hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Santos FC's Warren Ruiz tried to score from far away in the 94th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The throw-in from André Luís Tande in the 96th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Santos FC's Terence Nicholas.
