Bela Negara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mike Richardson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lanny Gilmore blasted a shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bela Negara having to make a save. Santos FC's Aaron Smallwood proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Santos FC from getting a goal against them. In the 31st match minute, Santos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Warren Ruiz to maneuver through the defense. The throw-in from Saul Camacho in the 34th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Santos FC's Terence Nicholas. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lanny Gilmore to make the kick off. In the 68th minute of the match Santos FC got a corner. Menang Kalah Tawuran's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Warren Ruiz ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Tyron Velasquez almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Menang Kalah Tawuran's Bela Negara did a great save. When Santos FC's Tyron Velasquez in the 70th minute got a chance for a shot 70th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
