American Airlines's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Joaquim Vilar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. American Airlines's Arvin Hökkvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquim Vilar in the 15th minute of play. El Canalla de Chicago were awarded a corner in the 20th minute after American Airlines's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Claude Mueller took the corner. Arvin Hökkvist stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joaquim Vilar's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. After 24 played minutes El Canalla de Chicago got a freekick which was hit by Andreas Sanchez. 26 minutes into the match, El Canalla de Chicago's Joaquim Vilar sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Arvin Hökkvist narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Wilbur Hyde was out of position in the 29 minute of play, and Anoush Khalatbari capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Anoush Khalatbari really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. 32 minutes into the match, Joaquim Vilar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arvin Hökkvist. Wilbur Hyde took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anoush Khalatbari, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. El Canalla de Chicago's Wilbur Hyde played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonah Ryan in the 40th minute of play. 41 minutes had been played when some careless play by El Canalla de Chicago's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Darnell Metcalf was slow to take the kick. During this time American Airlines's players had a chance to rest. American Airlines's Jonah Ryan was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Wilbur Hyde in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The supporters of American Airlines booed when El Canalla de Chicago was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Domingo Lopez didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in El Canalla de Chicago's zone, Anoush Khalatbari stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilbur Hyde came out of the goal and Anoush Khalatbari tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Arvin Hökkvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Domingo Lopez, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jonah Ryan to make the kick off. Anoush Khalatbari took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wilbur Hyde. Wilbur Hyde dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. After 55 minutes of play, El Canalla de Chicago's Joaquim Vilar made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arvin Hökkvist was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Anoush Khalatbari in the 57th minute of play forced El Canalla de Chicago's goalkeeper Wilbur Hyde to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 89th match minute, El Canalla de Chicago was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armando Leobardo to maneuver through the defense. Darnell Metcalf was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 90th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 95th minute Jonah Ryan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilbur Hyde saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Although American Airlines had been in control for most of the match, El Canalla de Chicago still came away with the win.
