Emerson Whaley came out of the goal and Alexander Tan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With his leg Emerson Whaley managed to avoid a goal in the 62ndth minute, when Albirex Niigata FC's Diego Belém fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Emerson Whaley made an important save on a dangerous shot by Diego Belém in the 69th minute. Diego Belém could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Emerson Whaley made a huge save. Diego Belém came free with the goalkeeper in the 90th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Emerson Whaley could save by the left post.
