The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cido Meireles made a fantastic save in the 2nd minute, when Aírton Oliveira sent off a good shot on target. With an all-out effort, Karaboudjan's Cido Meireles threw himself towards the right post 6 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Luizão Peixoto, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Fernandinho Albuquerque sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Marcelinho Abraão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Helge Almkvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Helge Almkvist in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcelinho Abraão prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A nice corner shot did that Haroldo Fonseca got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Marcelinho Abraão quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Fernandinho Albuquerque's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cido Meireles read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. 25 minutes into the game, Kléberson Gomes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Karaboudjan's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Palmeiras de Plantão the free kick. After a rather tough play, Karaboudjan's Kléberson Gomes got a free kick in the 25th minute. Marcelinho Abraão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabriel de Almeida, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcelinho Abraão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Helge Almkvist in the 31st minute of the match. With a little luck, Palmeiras de Plantão's Cido Meireles got control of the ball when Aírton Oliveira tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 37th minute of the match Palmeiras de Plantão got a corner. Karaboudjan's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Haroldo Fonseca ran over to the corner to take the kick. Palmeiras de Plantão's Haroldo Fonseca was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Marcelinho Abraão in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. With a little luck, Palmeiras de Plantão's Cido Meireles got control of the ball when Fernandinho Albuquerque tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 43rd of the match, Luizão Peixoto tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Cido Meireles got in the way and made a wonderful save. Marcelinho Abraão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Helge Almkvist in the 46th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gabriel de Almeida in the 47th minute of play forced Karaboudjan's goalkeeper Marcelinho Abraão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Fernandinho Albuquerque made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernandinho Albuquerque in the 51st minute of play forced Palmeiras de Plantão's goalkeeper Cido Meireles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After taking down the ball on Karaboudjan's corner Felippe Monteiro fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Cido Meireles quite easily take care of the ball. If Luizão Peixoto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fernandinho de Moraes kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Helge Almkvist in the 69thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Marcelinho Abraão, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Fernandinho Albuquerque received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Cido Meireles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zézinho Paraíba during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 76th match minute, Palmeiras de Plantão was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zézinho Paraíba to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Palmeiras de Plantão's Helge Almkvist slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Marcelinho Abraão. That made the score 0-1 after 80 minutes of play. After 83 minutes of play Karaboudjan's Kléberson Gomes was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to Karaboudjan getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Kléberson Gomes hit a great ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 84 minutes into the game, when Rafael Godoi put in a rough tackle. 84 minutes into the game, one of Karaboudjan:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Marcelinho Abraão went to the wrong direction when Haroldo Fonseca was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Palmeiras de Plantão had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
