Jardel Sanches took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dimitri Payet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The corner led Grêmio FBPA's Darío Pereyra to fire away a dangerous shot which Nico Pizzi despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball.

After a rather tough play, Grêmio FBPA's Kaká Rot got a free kick in the 51st minute. Wesley Toscano kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Nico Pizzi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pipis Karapatakis in the 66th minute of the match. With a little luck, Grêmio FBPA's Jardel Sanches got control of the ball when Patrick Cunha tried to sneak it across the goal line. Grêmio FBPA made a substitution. Eriberto Berger replaced Pipis Karapatakis. Wesley Toscano got a throw-in 72 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Dimitri Payet. Grêmio FBPA's Jardel Sanches played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Renato Paraíba in the 80th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Eriberto Berger managed to get in a good position for a shot. Grêmio FBPA's supporters rose to their feet, but Eriberto Berger was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. When the match had gone on for 93 minutes, Eriberto Berger put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Nico Pizzi. Jardel Sanches made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luiz Fernando Cearense in the 96th minute. SELEVASCO's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
