With his leg Afonsinho Marques managed to avoid a goal in the 6thth minute, when New Loser FC's Laureano Amato fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Afonsinho Marques stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Laureano Amato's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind Fala Sério FC's goalkeeper Afonsinho Marques, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 11 minutes Fala Sério FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Rogério Vieira who took care of the corner kick. Afonsinho Marques made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Laureano Amato sent off a good shot on target. 24 minutes into the game, Laureano Amato recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Afonsinho Marques. Laureano Amato showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Afonsinho Marques stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Laureano Amato's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. New Loser FC's attentive Murilo Paraíba managed to snatch the ball when Benê Aguiar made a throw-in in the 31st minute of the game. Laureano Amato's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Afonsinho Marques read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, New Loser FC's Afonsinho Negri got a free kick in the 48th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

56 minutes into the match, New Loser FC's goal looked a bit too open when André Azevedo came free, but Janar Lehismets reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, New Loser FC's Afonsinho Negri got a free kick in the 57th minute. 59 minutes into the match, Fala Sério FC's goal looked a bit too open when Laureano Amato came free, but Afonsinho Marques reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 59 minutes into the match, Laureano Amato notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Fala Sério FC's Afonsinho Marques. Afonsinho Marques was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of New Loser FC booed when Fala Sério FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reynaldo Martins didn't get a good kick on the ball. Afonsinho Marques showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laureano Amato, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. In the 74th minute Raimundo Pernambucano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Janar Lehismets saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Laureano Amato had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. New Loser FC's Laureano Amato got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Fala Sério FC defense, Laureano Amato kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Afonsinho Marques. The Fala Sério FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Afonsinho Marques should have stopped the shot. André Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Janar Lehismets having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in New Loser FC's zone, André Azevedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Janar Lehismets came out of the goal and André Azevedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Raimundo Pernambucano got free with Janar Lehismets in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the referee blew the final whistle, New Loser FC could leave the field as winners, despite Fala Sério FC having more of the ball for most of the match.
