Gustavo Gustavson came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's Örjan Björkdahl. But to his dismay, Örjan Björkdahl quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 16th minute of the match, Örjan Björkdahl tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Gustavo Gustavson saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 18 played minutes PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ got a freekick which was hit by Örjan Björkdahl. An unexpectedly hard shot by Örjan Björkdahl in the 28th minute of play forced New Joinville - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Gustavo Gustavson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Freddy Dove in the 30th minute of play forced PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's goalkeeper John Osomo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 33 minutes into the match, PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's Clarence Seedorf sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gustavo Gustavson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Örjan Björkdahl could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Gustavo Gustavson made a huge save. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Örjan Björkdahl to strike the kick off in the second half. After 51 minutes, Örjan Björkdahl made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. New Joinville - FSCMZ's Gustavo Gustavson tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Xandinho Thuram kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. 57 minutes into the match, New Joinville - FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Sandro Mandrak came free, but Gustavo Gustavson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 64 minutes, Örjan Björkdahl put it in 3-0 from a short distance just to the right of Gustavo Gustavson. In the 68th match minute, New Joinville - FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Xande Koeman to maneuver through the defense. 70 minutes into the match, Örjan Björkdahl notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of New Joinville - FSCMZ's Gustavo Gustavson. Gustavo Gustavson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Gustavo Gustavson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Örjan Björkdahl, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Örjan Björkdahl might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gustavo Gustavson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. After a defensive mix-up in New Joinville - FSCMZ's zone, Örjan Björkdahl stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gustavo Gustavson came out of the goal and Örjan Björkdahl tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
