After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Ahmet Erdem Zekai managed to get in a good position for a shot. Austra 04 VFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ahmet Erdem Zekai was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. John Osomo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's John Osomo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ahmet Erdem Zekai in the 7th minute of play. Beila Mora could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but John Osomo made a huge save. John Osomo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wellington Pires in the 12th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Örjan Björkdahl in the 15th minute of play forced Austra 04 VFC's goalkeeper Hudson Gaúcho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Beila Mora who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 16thth minute tested the skills of John Osomo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 19th minute Sócrates Silva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but John Osomo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. John Osomo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sócrates Silva in the 20th minute of the match. In the 21st minute, Beila Mora hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 23 minutes of play, PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's Örjan Björkdahl made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hudson Gaúcho was left in no man's land by his defense there! 28 minutes into the match, Beila Mora had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of John Osomo. PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Beila Mora was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Örjan Björkdahl was the one to do the kick off. John Osomo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sócrates Silva, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. 55 minutes into the match, PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Beila Mora came free, but John Osomo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Örjan Björkdahl fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hudson Gaúcho having to interfere. John Osomo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Beila Mora, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Ademar Rodrigues recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 72 played minutes Austra 04 VFC got a freekick which was hit by Zachary Madej. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wellington Pires in the 84th minute of play forced PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's goalkeeper John Osomo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Örjan Björkdahl received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Hudson Gaúcho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Austra 04 VFC made a substitution. Marcus Pollard replaced Sócrates Silva. In the 88th play minute Frans Larsfelt came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Hudson Gaúcho. 2-2. Hudson Gaúcho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Örjan Björkdahl, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
