After a defensive mix-up in Nascidos Para Jogar F.C's zone, Luiz Fábio Souto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rogério Mello came out of the goal and Luiz Fábio Souto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rogério Mello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donato Paraibano in the 16th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 19 minutes, Rogério Mello successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Fábio Souto in the 19th minute of play forced Nascidos Para Jogar F.C's goalkeeper Rogério Mello to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Donato Paraibano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rogério Mello having to interfere. Júlio Baiano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gugu Saraiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. When Volli Ant fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nascidos Para Jogar F.C's protests and gave Volli Ant a yellow card for diving instead. After 32 played minutes Nascidos Para Jogar F.C got a freekick which was hit by Volli Ant. Nixon Richard had several of the Nascidos Para Jogar F.C's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 38 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-0 score and a disappointed Rogério Mello as he didn't even see the shot coming. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pedro Paulo Queirós got free with Rogério Mello in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nixon Richard made a kick off. Júlio Baiano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isaltino Fonseca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Barões F. C.'s Júlio Baiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Alberto Massa in the 56th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Nascidos Para Jogar F.C's Bobbo Breitner got a free kick in the 57th minute. In the 58th minute of the match Donato Paraibano shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rogério Mello showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bobbo Breitner during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Barões F. C. booed when Nascidos Para Jogar F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bobbo Breitner didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rogério Mello showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nixon Richard in the 62nd minute of the match. In the 62nd minute Nixon Richard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rogério Mello saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rogério Mello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laurencio Vidal in the 71st minute of play. Carlos Alberto Massa succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-1 in the 93rd playminute. There was no doubt that Barões F. C. were the better team. Barões F. C.'s players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
