After 5 played minutes Santos Campineiro got a freekick which was hit by Jonathan Orlandus. Eulalio Montrel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Onuralp Ergüden, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. The Santos Campineiro fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ahmad Reza Asadi should have stopped the shot. Eulalio Montrel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sidnei Baptista in the 47th minute. Ahmad Reza Asadi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Perivaldo Sampaio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

When the match clock showed 66 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Murilo Paes sped through Atlético-PR's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Eulalio Montrel. Eulalio Montrel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Murilo Paes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 70 played minutes Atlético-PR got a freekick which was hit by Hong Jian Fan. With an all-out effort, Atlético-PR's Ahmad Reza Asadi threw himself towards the right post 86 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Hong Jian Fan, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Atlético-PR's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
