In the 9th minute of the match Que se abra o mar got a corner. América-SC F.C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Lando Norin ran over to the corner to take the kick. Tommy Van Elsen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Nestor Quirino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nestor Quirino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tato Vega, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. After some careless play in the Que se abra o mar defense, Gabi Gol kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sandro Tepedino. The Que se abra o mar fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sandro Tepedino should have stopped the shot. Sandro Tepedino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabi Gol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Que se abra o mar's Sandro Tepedino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabi Gol in the 27th minute of play. In the 29th minute, Jerônimo Pimenta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lando Norin hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gabi Gol in the 34th minute of play forced Que se abra o mar's goalkeeper Sandro Tepedino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Silvinho da Silveira made in the 44th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Ivar Eriksson however managed to control. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gabi Gol in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sandro Tepedino saved Que se abra o mar from getting behind.

Tato Vega blasted a shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nestor Quirino having to make a save. Gabi Gol took the ball and in the 59 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sandro Tepedino. Sandro Tepedino dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Elder Domingues could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Sandro Tepedino made a huge save. After 65 played minutes Que se abra o mar got a freekick which was hit by Silvinho da Silveira. After a rather tough play, Que se abra o mar's Silvinho da Silveira got a free kick in the 66th minute. 70 minutes into the match, América-SC F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Lando Norin came free, but Nestor Quirino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivar Eriksson in the 75th minute of play forced América-SC F.C.'s goalkeeper Nestor Quirino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kobe Haaland got free with Sandro Tepedino in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Altuğ Vakkasoğlu kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Que se abra o mar made a substitution. Tomas Lewandowski replaced Tato Vega. Noel Perez made in the 83rd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Ivar Eriksson however managed to control. In the 84th minute, Tomas Lewandowski ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nestor Quirino was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Kobe Haaland in the 89thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Sandro Tepedino, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After 94th play minutes Tomas Lewandowski shot 2-3, a short shot which went by Nestor Quirino and just under the crossbar into goal. The América-SC F.C. supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing América-SC F.C. would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
