Nova Venécia-ES's Luís Gustavo do Nascimento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilbert Pochorylo in the 43rd minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Doru Pogea was the one to do the kick off. In the 56th minute Doru Pogea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Gustavo do Nascimento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dino Tavares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Doni das Neves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fred Finsberg in the 90th minute of play forced Nova Venécia-ES's goalkeeper Luís Gustavo do Nascimento to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nova Venécia-ES were furious when Huang Peng Ning was red carded, 95 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Huang Peng Ning hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. In the 97th minute, Anderson da Silva ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luís Gustavo do Nascimento was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
