The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cássio Corinth stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edson Ribeiro's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. In the 7th minute Lucrețiu Grigore shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cássio Corinth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Grêmio Prudente booed when Red John S.K was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Caetano Arósio didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ingvar Strand got free with Geovanildo Silva in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 17th minute, Gomesano Gatica ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cássio Corinth was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 25th minute, Lucrețiu Grigore made a precise shot to the right of Cássio Corinth. Red John S.K's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Red John S.K's Ingvar Strand got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gomesano Gatica in the 44th minute of play forced Red John S.K's goalkeeper Cássio Corinth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lucrețiu Grigore made a kick off. In the 51st minute, Henrique Ramalho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cássio Corinth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eleuterio Gaztea, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eleuterio Gaztea in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cássio Corinth saved Red John S.K from getting behind. Cássio Corinth took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucrețiu Grigore, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Red John S.K made a substitution. Sebastian Bach replaced Ingvar Strand. Sebastian Bach received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Geovanildo Silva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luan Negri made in the 71st minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Mo Wei Xing. 74 minutes into the game, Grêmio Prudente's Edson Ribeiro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cássio Corinth made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Grêmio Prudente's Geovanildo Silva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastian Bach in the 77th minute of play. Sebastian Bach scored 1-3 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Geovanildo Silva, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Henrique Ramalho hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Edson Ribeiro's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Cássio Corinth firmly grabbed it by the left post. Cássio Corinth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucrețiu Grigore in the 88th minute of play. Lucrețiu Grigore sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Grêmio Prudente's Geovanildo Silva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastian Bach in the 90th minute of play. Gomesano Gatica received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Cássio Corinth came out and tried to block the shot, but Gomesano Gatica slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 92nd minute. A collision led to Red John S.K getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Henrique Ramalho hit a great ball. Red John S.K's Cássio Corinth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucrețiu Grigore in the 96th minute of play. When the final whistle sounded Grêmio Prudente left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Red John S.K.
