João Francisco Tinoco didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lance Cabezas went, in the 2nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 7th minute, Rodrigo Abraão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Remigio Finlay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 17 minutes into the match, AA GUARULHOS's goalkeeper Carlinhos Freitas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Harold Tronconi. Richard Dahlqvist hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. If Harold Tronconi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlinhos Freitas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Harold Tronconi in the 27th minute. In the 33rd minute Harold Tronconi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlinhos Freitas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. AA GUARULHOS's Carlinhos Freitas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save AA GUARULHOS from getting a goal against them. 37 minutes into the match, AA GUARULHOS's Remigio Finlay sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that João Francisco Tinoco narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 43rdth minute of the game Harold Tronconi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but AA GUARULHOS's Carlinhos Freitas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Aleksejs Vērīgais kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Harold Tronconi was the one to do the kick off. If Harold Tronconi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jacobo Porfirio's late challenge caught a Grêmio RK75's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lance Cabezas charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Pablo Felip's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but João Francisco Tinoco read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. Rodrigo Abraão made in the 87th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Jaime Velloso. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rodrigo Abraão during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
