In the 4th minute Gino do Valle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlinhos Freitas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Remigio Finlay scored 1-0 in the 6th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Daniël De Goeij, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Limoeiro-PE FC's Daniël De Goeij played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Remigio Finlay in the 10th minute of play. In the 15th minute, Doni Barbosa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Limoeiro-PE FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. When Tomás Cabral fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Limoeiro-PE FC's protests and gave Tomás Cabral a yellow card for diving instead. In the 19th match minute, Limoeiro-PE FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomás Cabral to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Remigio Finlay in the 20th minute of play forced Limoeiro-PE FC's goalkeeper Daniël De Goeij to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 25 minutes, Remigio Finlay took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Daniël De Goeij to make any attempt to save it. If Doni Barbosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Richard Neto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Carlinhos Freitas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. Jorginho de Queiroz kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. In the 37th minute, Remigio Finlay ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Daniël De Goeij was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. If Remigio Finlay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Remigio Finlay kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Daniël De Goeij. That made the score 4-1 in the 44 minute of play. Fletcher Greenan hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Remigio Finlay to make the kick off. Remigio Finlay might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Daniël De Goeij. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Remigio Finlay ran back to his position shaking his head. 57 minutes into the match, AA GUARULHOS's goal looked a bit too open when Richard Neto came free, but Carlinhos Freitas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniël De Goeij showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Remigio Finlay in the 58th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Remigio Finlay's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Daniël De Goeij was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. In the 69th minute, Richard Neto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Willian Vaz was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 72 minutes into the match. Limoeiro-PE FC's Edgar Cabral was substituted for Luís Fabiano Fontes. In the 72nd minute, one of Limoeiro-PE FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Limoeiro-PE FC. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Doni Barbosa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Limoeiro-PE FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Doni Barbosa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlinhos Freitas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Daniël De Goeij made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pablo Felip in the 82nd minute of play. Richard Dahlqvist made in the 85th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Pablo Felip. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fletcher Greenan in the 89th minute of play forced Limoeiro-PE FC's goalkeeper Daniël De Goeij to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After taking down the ball on AA GUARULHOS's corner José Augusto Viana fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Daniël De Goeij quite easily take care of the ball. Lance Cabezas hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. AA GUARULHOS's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
