Duda Vergílio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lütfi Kutlubay having to interfere. Lütfi Kutlubay took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnaldo Alsua, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lütfi Kutlubay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnaldo Alsua in the 20th minute of play. Gianluigi Buffon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chiquinho Pombal in the 22nd minute of the match. Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Thibault Delanoë in the 28th minute. In the 30th match minute, Gigante da Colina FC-DMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ulysses Camargo to maneuver through the defense. 31 minutes had been played when some careless play by Gigante da Colina FC-DMZ's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Thibault Delanoë was slow to take the kick. During this time Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's players had a chance to rest. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Gigante da Colina FC-DMZ booed when Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zygmunt Rzegotka didn't get a good kick on the ball. Artur Buczko's late challenge caught a Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Artur Buczko helped the player get up and apologised. Artur Buczko hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arnaldo Alsua in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lütfi Kutlubay saved Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa from getting behind. If Arnaldo Alsua had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Gigante da Colina FC-DMZ walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
