Jardel Reis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Augusto Alves in the 29th minute of the match. A collision led to Internazionale-RS getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Michel Netto hit a great ball. In the 32nd play minute Alan Tavares came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Jardel Reis. 2-0. Jardel Reis made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Pedro Augusto Alves sent off a good shot on target. In the 36th minute Pedro Augusto Alves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jardel Reis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Pedro Augusto Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alan Tavares to make the kick off. Pedro Augusto Alves might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jardel Reis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pedro Augusto Alves ran back to his position shaking his head. Cebrail Yamanöz in the 58thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Karl-Erik Hellström, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Jardel Reis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Augusto Alves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pedro Augusto Alves in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jardel Reis saved Catadão from getting behind. Internazionale-RS made a substitution. Caco Borges replaced Oskars Nīkulis. Oswaldo do Vale made in the 69th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Internazionale-RS's Juarês Salles. Cebrail Yamanöz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Karl-Erik Hellström made a huge save. Aloísio Arruda hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match.
