Genaro Sidro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mugur Chiriac went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mugur Chiriac in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Genaro Sidro saved Rondeau from getting behind. Mugur Chiriac might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Genaro Sidro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mugur Chiriac ran back to his position shaking his head. Genaro Sidro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mugur Chiriac in the 20th minute of play. A collision led to Rondeau getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Lino Raulo hit a great ball. In the 27th minute, Ramon Kemen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aureliano Menendo during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 28th match minute, Rondeau was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aureliano Menendo to maneuver through the defense. Club Atlético Atlanta's Remigio Erramu shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 30th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Genaro Sidro but with some difficulty. In the 34th minute, Mugur Chiriac ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Genaro Sidro was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Anselmo Nevada recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Mugur Chiriac's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Genaro Sidro was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. After having played for 45 minutes, Alfonso Goicoechea managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Atlético Atlanta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alfonso Goicoechea was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aureliano Menendo hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the match clock showed 52 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Mugur Chiriac sped through Rondeau's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Genaro Sidro. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rondeau's goalkeeper Genaro Sidro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 4-0 became the score in the 59th minute when Alfonso Goicoechea elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Eustaquio Jaizki fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Genaro Sidro having to interfere. 73 minutes into the match, Eustaquio Jaizki notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Rondeau's Genaro Sidro. Genaro Sidro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 6-0 became the score in the 76th minute when Eustaquio Jaizki elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Rondeau made a substitution. Prospero Enaut replaced Ramon Kemen. Eustaquio Jaizki sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Club Atlético Atlanta booed when Rondeau was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Prospero Enaut didn't get a good kick on the ball. Prospero Enaut charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Club Atlético Atlanta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alfonso Goicoechea was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Club Atlético Atlanta walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
