Flavio Larpe scored 0-3 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Feliciano Feo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 18 played minutes Estudiantes de la Plata got a freekick which was hit by Árpád Markó. Angel Fonso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arturo Constancio in the 22nd minute. Arturo Constancio's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Angel Fonso firmly grabbed it by the left post. Feliciano Feo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Árpád Markó, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. With a little luck, Estudiantes de la Plata's Angel Fonso got control of the ball when Arturo Constancio tried to sneak it across the goal line. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arturo Constancio in the 44th minute of play forced Estudiantes de la Plata's goalkeeper Angel Fonso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 48 minutes into the game, Estudiantes de la Plata's Árpád Markó nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Feliciano Feo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-5 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Árpád Markó to make the kick off. In the 58th minute of the match Jeremias Txeru sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Angel Fonso skillfully saved the ball. 67 minutes into the game, Árpád Markó cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-6. Feliciano Feo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
