Jacobo Romo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clemente Rubio, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. After 44th play minutes Vidal Silvestre shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Orvar Bäckström and just under the crossbar into goal. Agustin Bidun fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Orvar Bäckström having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Albino Oso made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the game, CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's Albino Oso nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Orvar Bäckström made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. In the 61st minute of the match, Henric Springfält tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jacobo Romo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE reached it.
