The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Benedicto Lalla was the one to do the kick off. If Ciriaco Azubeli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Virgilio Sotil showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benedicto Lalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Virgilio Sotil was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Benedicto Lalla in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Virgilio Sotil prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 85th match minute, Villa Mitre was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ramiro Jerano to maneuver through the defense. Villa Mitre's Virgilio Sotil played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aríel Etchegaray in the 88th minute of play. When the match clock showed 92 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Benedicto Lalla sped through Villa Mitre's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Virgilio Sotil.
