Ushuaia FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nacho Villarroel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ramiro Bautista came free with the goalkeeper in the 19th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Mihail Nazaria could save by the left post. Ushuaia FC's Nereo Neto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andrzej Mlekodaj in the 29th minute of play. In the 33rd minute of the match, Nacho Villarroel tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Mihail Nazaria saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilfredo Weterio in the 45th minute of play forced Ushuaia FC's goalkeeper Nereo Neto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Wilfredo Weterio fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ATE AFC's protests and gave Wilfredo Weterio a yellow card for diving instead. After 46 played minutes ATE AFC got a freekick which was hit by Wilfredo Weterio. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The wind increased when Nacho Villarroel made the kick off in the second half.
