In the 20th minute, Arnulfo Tancredo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Robert Steffens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodolfo Egoi in the 21st minute of play. Douglas dos Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Robert Steffens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rosario Central's Alvaro Urre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Darío Cvitanich in the 27th minute of play. Robert Steffens didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Placido Gartzea went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Robert Steffens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodolfo Egoi in the 46th minute of the match. Co Gøte's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alvaro Urre read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Darío Cvitanich stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Darío Cvitanich shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alvaro Urre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alvaro Urre stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Darío Cvitanich's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. 56 minutes into the match, JS 22's goalkeeper Robert Steffens had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Placido Gartzea. Epifanio Laffitte thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Robert Steffens, a very annoying self made goal in the 58th minute which led to 0-2. In the 75th minute of the match Alfonso Cilio shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alvaro Urre showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 75th match minute, Rosario Central was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Prodan Milchov to maneuver through the defense. Rosario Central's Jacinto Txartiko was substituted for Egon Holló. The supporters of JS 22 booed when Rosario Central was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Prodan Milchov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Darío Cvitanich received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Maximiliano Hustaz hit a great ball. 92 minutes into the match, Rosario Central's goal looked a bit too open when Darío Cvitanich came free, but Alvaro Urre reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Rodolfo Egoi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Robert Steffens was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game. Jacinto Txartiko received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Robert Steffens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
