After 4 minutes Batalhão do Peçanha's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Lucas Hernández who took care of the corner kick. Futuros FC's Lucas Hernández was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Petr Čech in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Marcos Fernandes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Petr Čech made a huge save. The throw-in from Mai Xun Kang in the 7th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Batalhão do Peçanha's Epaminondas Baba. Ma Kuan Yun's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but João Carlos Andrade read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. A sloppy throw-in by Sílvio Luiz Velloso in the 14th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Batalhão do Peçanha's Epaminondas Baba. When Batalhão do Peçanha's Ma Kuan Yun in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. João Carlos Andrade was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Petr Čech took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Beto Smith, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Petr Čech didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Beto Smith went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. The supporters of Futuros FC booed when Batalhão do Peçanha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eppo Pollmann didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eppo Pollmann lost his temper 45 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 44 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Batalhão do Peçanha! 48 minutes had been played when some careless play by Batalhão do Peçanha's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Lucas Hernández was slow to take the kick. During this time Futuros FC's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Lucas Hernández got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Petr Čech quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Futuros FC's Adhemar Furtado was substituted for Sílvio Luiz Velloso. In the 54th minute, Ma Kuan Yun got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Petr Čech showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcos Fernandes in the 62nd minute of the match. Ma Kuan Yun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 69th minute Afonso Pinhal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petr Čech saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Batalhão do Peçanha getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Mauro Inocente hit a great ball. Beto Smith took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Petr Čech. Petr Čech dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Krakaca Neto in the 92nd minute of play forced Batalhão do Peçanha's goalkeeper Petr Čech to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Krakaca Neto in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Petr Čech saved Batalhão do Peçanha from getting behind. Batalhão do Peçanha's Ma Kuan Yun got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ma Kuan Yun fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Carlos Andrade having to interfere. Futuros FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
