After 40 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Club Athletico Paulistano! Dé Mello showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabinho dos Santos in the 45th minute of the match. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fabinho dos Santos to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd match minute, Canarinho Atordoado was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Muchlis Salampessy to maneuver through the defense. Agnaldo Mattos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Dé Mello made a huge save. 59 minutes into the match, Club Athletico Paulistano's goal looked a bit too open when Mariusz Fink came free, but Acácio Lara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Acácio Lara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Márcio Seabra in the 74th minute of play. In the 77th minute of the match Canarinho Atordoado got a corner. Club Athletico Paulistano's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luiz Leo ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to Canarinho Atordoado's Igor de Salles getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. In the 79th minute Gustave Rat shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Acácio Lara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Márcio Seabra in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Acácio Lara prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 83 minutes into the match, Canarinho Atordoado's Tuncer İlbaşı sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Acácio Lara narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Canarinho Atordoado's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Luiz Leo in the 84th minute. Canarinho Atordoado had won after a very even match.
